This is the way we procede with our converting system.
We upconvert your tapes to a blue-ray in two ways: one-to-one or many-to-one.
The one-on-one method is basic a streight conversion from a single tape to a single blue-disc. The benefit of that is the cost and easy archiving and the option to print the label assigning a tape per disc.
The many-to-one is a combination of tapes to fit at the large amount of data that a blue-ray disc can hold (see the picture below to have an idea). The benefit of this method will be that less disc on your shelf easy navigation on the disc. (Over 9 hours of high-definition (HD) video on a 50GB disc.
About 23 hours of standard-definition (SD) video on a 50GB disc.)

Don't expect an amaizing improvement of the VHS quality. No that will be (almost) impossible. VHS quality still will be a VHS quality. With our conversion system we will try to improve the image with a color correction system after been converted from analog to digital signal (MPEG) then converted to HD (Blue-Ray) able to playback on today players such as Blue-Ray machine. Avoid the fact a VHS machine will be almost impossible to find on the market (service as well). A little bit better will be for the following tapes: SVHS, Hi8, Digital 8, MiniDV, DVD and MiniDVD.
